Racing on Friday Night!!!

Finally the car is ready to race. We have worked for 2 years getting the car ready. We race Friday night (8/22) at Boyd's Speedway. Look at the smile on Chris's face. He never smiles for photos so that makes this one priceless. He is soooo happy! He has already been given a nickname by the other guys we race with. It is ''Chocolate Chip". (long story....involves waffles at Waffle House after a race)

More New Adventures - Premier Designs

I will soon be selling my FAVORITE product! JEWELRY!! I had a Premier Designs Jewelry show in February. Since then I have been hooked! I absolutely love my new look. Jewelry makes and old outfit look new again. I have gotten so many positive comments about the new items that I have been wearing. Everyone asks about it and I tell them it came from Premier Designs. Well now when they ask I can explain that I can sell them what they want and encourage them to have a party and share the excitement with others!!
Well about a month ago my friend Edna got hooked like I did and started selling it. She has had several parties and is having a blast with it. I went with her on Saturday to a Premier event. I got to thinking why not just start selling it. I love the jewelry and use it daily so the investment would not hurt me.
So... now I am looking for friends, family, friends of family, coworkers, etc to host a party for me. I should have my kit and be ready to go in less than 2 weeks. Until then I will be sending out notes to everyone hoping that everyone will host a party for me!!!
Premier Design parties are great to get all your girlfriends together for a "Girls Night Out". I have lots of ideas for party themes if you need ideas. Premier Designs is High Fashion Jewelry at a very reasonable cost.
Call me or email me for more details. I have set up a new email and website for my Premier Designs business.

Good Intentions

I really have good intentions of keeping my blog up to date. But YIKES !!! Life comes at you fast and sometimes you just get so caught up in everything. Well since Easter (last post) a lot has happened. I went on my first airplane ride alone (story for another day), I also went and taught scrapbooking classes in Madison, WI for my friend Lauren. This little adventure now has a life of its own. What started out as helping her out because she double booked herself for a couple of weekends has grown to me teaching my own classes. Also working in the booth at conventions. I was just asked last night to go to Detroit in May. After that is Arlington, TX in June. Then on to Duluth, GA in July. Yes my head is spinning...
Oh and May 17th is Chris's graduation. See life comes at you fast. You either have to get in the fast lane with it or move over into the slow lane. At this point in life I am driving 90 miles an hour in the fast lane and still getting passed.

Katie is not too old to have fun hunting Easter Eggs. She also made sure that we got the eggs colored too. She is growing so quick. I am glad that she enjoys being a little girl. She was so happy the Easter Bunny brought all the things she loves. WOW isn't that amazing!!

Ok it is CRUNCH TIME!!

My friend Lauren who got me into these scrapbooking adventures came to the house Friday and Saturday. She brought me all the stuff to put together for the classes that I am going to be teaching for her next weekend. All I can say is WOW!! It was a lot to take in. I am still working on making samples for the classes. Also I have to get my stuff together to ship to the convention. (Stuff I can't take on the plane) I have to run, lots and lots to do and a short time to do it in.

Scrapbooking Adventures

As some of you may know I have a friend in Atlanta named Lauren. She is a FANTASTIC artist. She can make ordinary things extraordinary. I have appointed myself as her manager. I seem to get her volunteered into all kinds of things when it comes to scrapbooking. When she decided that she wanted to cut and tear paper for a living I had to give her a shove. Sometimes she looses focus like “Dory” on Finding Nemo. Anyway.. I keep getting her into all kinds of stuff and you know I think she is finally having fun.
So… back during the summer at CHA for all you non crafters it is the biggest Craft & Hobby show ever. It is where retailers go to buy there stuff for the season. She met a lady named Leann that owns Everyday Scrap. Leann sets up a booth at Scrapbook Conventions all over the US. She was coming to Huntsville, AL in the fall and asked Lauren to work the booth. Lauren said yes and that she had friends that were coming could they help. Also Lauren had already signed up to teach classes at that convention. So October came and we all went to Huntsville and had a blast working the booth. Leann could not believe the extra $$ she made with having more people in the booth helping her sell. So she decided that she wanted to take us with her wherever she goes. So Lauren is teaching at most all of the shows that Leann is attending and I am going to quite a few to work the booth…. Well at least that was the plan. Leann has a partner and sometimes there is more than one convention in the same weekend so they have to be in two places at once. Well.. Leann double booked Lauren on teaching. The weekend of March 27-30 Lauren needed to be in Columbus, OH & Madison, WI. So I was “voluntold” that I am teaching her classes in Madison, WI that weekend while she goes to Columbus. YIKES…. I was like WHAT !! I am doing WHAT???!!! That was exactly what I said when I called her. She laughed and told me it would be just fine. As the time approaches I am getting excited about the class. Nervous about the plane flight alone but as Lauren would say put your big girl panties on and get to steppin. Lauren is coming to my house on March 21st so that we can go over all the projects so that I am not lost. Oh… and come to find out she is double booked again in May so…. I am off to Michigan in May to teach. At least these are paying jobs so I will make some $$ so that I can pay some bills. Here are a couple of links to the conventions that I am teaching at for Lauren. Check out the classes section and look for the ones with the teacher AMY and sponsored by EVERYDAY SCRAP. Thanks to Lauren I am getting my 15 minutes of fame. Do you think everyone in the classes will be surprised after looking at the samples that have little black kids in the photos and then I show up to teach? Go ahead laugh... I told Lauren someone would say something... and yes Lauren got and email from someone who she met while teaching last year. The lady says "Lauren there is some lady named Amy that is using your stuff!!" We both got a big laugh and I told Lauren.. see I told you so!!

Locks of Love

Katie has been growing her hair for several years now so that she could donate it to Locks of Love. It has finally gotten long enough to cut off the minimum amount of 10 inches off. She was so excited that the day had finally arrived. She already knew exactly how she wanted her hair cut. We arrived at Creative Images at 5:00 for her appointment. Susan who always cuts our families hair was honored to be able to cut it for such a good cause. As you can see by the pics she is happy. By the time it was all over Katie actually has 11 inches of hair to donate to Locks of Love. She has not stopped playing with her new hair doo since she got it cut.

I talked to a lady at the newspaper and she told me to email her the pics and she would get it in the Hixson Community News that comes out on Wednesday's. If she gets her 5 min of fame in the paper I will be sure to post it.

Life is just kickin my rear!

There is just simply not enough time in the day. I physically can not get everything I need done in the time I have been given. 4th grade is HARD!!! Katie is struggling and I just don't know what to do. We spent tonight from 7:00 pm -10:00 pm working on homework. During that time I worked on getting everything together so that we can go get our taxes done. I put a load of laundry in to wash. Ifinished getting Katie's clothes she has outgrown ready to go to the consignment sale tomorrow. I put a pot roast on to cook tonight for dinner tomorrow. Oh and I also paid this months bills. I had the BIG bosses in at work today and had to take care of them and also one of the girls in the office was out today because her grandmother died. So I had to do part of her job today too. I just need a mental health day. I just for once want to be caught up on everything.

OH YES! VEGAS BABY!!

I had the best time in VEGAS! I definately want to go back again. I would even go back again on the whirlwind 24 tour. It was fun! I recommend it. Just don't try to go into every casino on the strip. I have no idea how far we walked but it had to be miles, and miles. I am hooked. I just liked walking around looking at everything. I am soo happy that we went even though I was only there 24 hours. We arrived on Monday night Feb. 4 at around midnight. After a crazy taxi ride to our hotel Bally's, we checked in. Thanks to my friend Edna and her players card they upgraded our room. We got there thinking it would be just a standard room. But NOOOO... it was a HUGE room with a king size bed and jacuzzi tub! We got settled in and then went downstairs to gamble a little... after all we are in VEGAS!! It is true the city never sleeps. Wade sat at a 25 cent machine and put in $20.00. He bet about 5 times and then hit and won $120.00. He said thats it I am cashing out and we are going to bed.

The next morning we got up and out on the strip early. We had breakfast at Denny's and then started the day. Did I say that we walked from one end of the strip to the other.....

Ok I have a few favorite hotels. I love the Venetian. It is soo pretty. I want to go back and take the Gondola ride. I also want to go to Madame Truesseu's Wax Museaum. I liked Caesar's Palace too. I wish we had been able to see the show in front of Treasure Island. The fountains at the Bellagio were FAB!! It was so pretty. Finally my 2 favorites... I love New York New York and Paris. I could spend my whole time in both of those. I love the atmosphere at both of these places.
Looks like I need to go again...... (Edna start watching the airline again....)

Scavenger Hunt

Ok so my friend Edna got us into it again. Their church had a scavenger hunt last Saturday afternoon. We all met at the church and were given a list of items to either bring back or take pictures of. Here are a few pics of our journey that day. One stop was at the Carousel downtown. We had to get a picture of the cat. Next we had to find the brick boat downtown and we all had to be in the picture. The last picture we had to have a tea party at English Rose. We had a great time. I really thought we had a shot at winning. After we got back at the votes were tallied.... we were just not good enough. We will give it another try again next year.

Weekend with "The Girls"

I just got back from my weekend with "THE GIRLS". We had soo much fun! We went to Ft. Yargo in Winder, GA to scrapbook from Thursday night until Sunday night. I forgot my camera. (I know, I am a scrapbooker how could I do that!! I should be ashamed) This pic was taken with my phone. This is my friend Teresa. We had soo much fun over the weekend. Couldn't we pass for sisters! I have found my long lost twin.

As always it was a ton a laughs. Lauren was as crazy as always. You would need to read her blog about the incident with her pants. She tells the story so much better than I can.

We don't have another weekend planned anytime soon. Lauren starts teaching in February and her weekends are taken. We will have to plan in advance for everyone to get together again. I know we will go to Knoxville in April for the yard sale at Scrapbooks & More.

Phone News!

Well as the pictures can tell ... Katie now has a cell phone. Do you think she is excited? Of course the Princess had to get a pink one.
There is a reason behind getting it. It was just not practical to have a home phone. We were spending $35 a month for something that rang maybe 5 times a month. So we had the phone phone disconnected. So for all you friends and family out there you will need to call Wade, Amy, Katie & Chris on our cell phones. It was only $10.00 more added to the cell phone bill for Katie to have a phone. There are many restrictions to the phone. 1st she can only talk to the people Mommy programmed in her phone. All the family, etc... Also she can talk to friends that have Verizon since those calls are free. 2nd ..No text messaging. I think for a while we will be fine since she does not know how to do all of that stuff. 3rd.. the phone does not go with her to school. She can take it when she goes to the grandparents, aunts, uncles, & friends house but she must keep up with it. If she looses it .. too bad it is gone.
Looks like my little girl is turning into a little lady.

SNOW!!!

Yes!! Snow on New Years Day!! I love it! Katie and I love snow. Mom called about 9:00 saying it was snowing at her house. I thought she had lost her mind. I looked outside and there was nothing. About 15 min later I looked again and it had started to snow. I was just a dusting but still enough to make snowballs from what laid on the porch. Katie got all her snow gear on and went out to play. Wade could not resist going out and throwing snowballs at her. If only we had gotten more......
