Christmas Morning

Well I think that Katie had a great Christmas. Santa was good to her as always. Katie is taking guitar lessons now so Wade & I got her a guitar case with pink flames put on it. She wanted the one at the store with red flames but I thought pink ones fit her better. This was the year that she was really into clothes. She loves shopping at Limited Too. She got several game boy games too. Along with a Webkinz. We are very fortunate to have such a good girl that really appreciates everything she gets no matter how big or small.

Christmas 2007

Merry Christmas from the family!! Christmas with the Wood's was great this year! We met on Christmas Eve for lunch. We had a wonderful time. We are so glad that Nick made it in town for the holidays. Lauren & John went to visit his family in North Carolina. We missed you guys!

Merry Christmas from all of us!

WOW!!

I am finally getting to go to VEGAS!!! Our friends Edna & Whit found a deal on flights. Only $110 total for Wade and I round trip to Vegas from Atlanta. I am so excited. We leave on Feb. 4th and return on Feb. 6th. I know it is not long but just long enough so that Wade doesn't go crazy. He hates crowds, etc. I think he is allergic to fun.

I cannot believe that it has been since November that I posted. We were so busy with football and school that I just have not had time. The holidays are going to be fun. After Friday I am off until Jan. 2nd. Maybe then I will have time to get caught up on some things I need to do. I am hoping to get my kitchen painted while I am on vacation.

I have lots going on for the new year. Once I get my thoughts together I will get it on here.

I hope everyone has a MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Senior Night Football Game

Pics of us at Senior Night. Chris looks like he has lost his best friend. We can never get a smile out of him. He got to be one of the Captains that night at the game. GO BUCS!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

Katie decided to be a Midnight Witch. I just couldn't put the black makeup on such a pretty face. Maybe next year she will go back to being a Princess. And yes Katie's hair has gotten that long. There were several people that thought it was a wig.

Our friends Clint, Jennifer & Summer came over a visited before we started trick or treating. They always dress up when they take Summer out.

Katie is 10!!!

I cannot believe that Katie is 10! She is growing up so fast. My little girl is becomming a young lady. These are pics that were taken on 10/17/07 her actual birthday. She wanted to go eat dinner at Ryan's. She had dinner with Nannie, Bubba, Mom and Dad. Her birthday gift from Mom and Dad was guitar lessons. She went on Thursday for her first lesson and did great. She was so excited. On Saturday she had a party at the house with 6 girls. We rented an inflatable and the girls had a great time. There were 4 of them that spent the night. (I am so glad there is only 1 birthday a year.) Everytime I let her have girls over to spend the night I ask myself why I keep doing this. They had a great time!

I love going to Croptoberfest. It is such a relaxing weekend. I get soo much stuff done. I enjoy spending time with my girlfriends and getting to scrap. I will post pics of the weekend next week.

Funny for the day..

Ok some of you may know my friend Lauren from ATL. She is crazy. She is always suprising everyone and doing crazy stuff. Well this time she got it. Katie and I drove to ATL today to suprise her. She had no clue it was great! The look on her face when we pulled up was priceless. She has been under a lot of stress lately with getting her basement finished. Katie and I went down to help her out for the day. She has a GREAT new scrapbook room! I LOVE her shelves. I ended up scraping paint off windows and hanging her curtains. Everything is looking good. Our friend Teresa came down today to spend a couple of weeks with her. She is going to help Lauren go through all her stuff and get organized. Maybe they will come to my house and help me. My scrap room needs major help.

Life is always an adventure!

Well yesterday Wade called me from work saying that he was having problems breathing and his arm was numb. I immediately left work and went and pick him up and we went to the ER. For Wade to ask to go to the doctor I knew he was sick. Long story short... after being in the ER from 11:30-5:30 and 1 xray, 1 cat scan and 2 breathing treatments later... he has a bacterial infection in his lungs. They have him on an inhaler, steroids & antibiotics. The doctor said he should be just fine. Next time his sinuses start draining he will listen to me and take some medicine. That is what they think caused the infection. Men... what do are we suppose to do with them?

Is there a DOCTOR in the house!!

Ok all you moms out there. Here is a tip that may save you a lot of heartache. ALWAYS check the seams on a stuffed animal or doll before you put them in the washing machine!!! As you can see Katie's build a bear has an open wound. I came home from an auction tonight and Wade yells at me from downstairs to come and look. I come down the stairs and he asks me what are we going to do about this. Is there a doctor that can fix it. The bear even lost the heart they put in there. I washed the bear last night with a load of towels. Wade had come down to change them over and found this. He took everything out of the washer and piled it on the sink. He cleaned out the washer and walked out of the laundry room for me to perform surgery. FYI... they put a whole lot of stuffing in this bear. It is everywhere. I am having to shake off the towels into the sink and put the stuffing back in. After that the towels will go back in the wash and maybe all the fuzz will come off. I am hoping to get it sewed up and Katie be none the wiser. I hope this piece of advice will save someone else from having to do open butt surgery on a bear.
Right after all this happened I had to call my friend Lauren. She proceeds to tell me to get off the phone and get my camera and post on my blog. I hope she realizes that not all the crazy stuff happens to just her.

DECKTOPIA

I am so tired of working on this deck. Why do I feel like this thing keeps getting bigger and bigger! Ok the 1st picture was taken about 1:00 TODAY! The last picture was taken at 7:00 TODAY! Wade, Chris and Uncle Jeff and me worked hard to get all that done. I am hoping we will get even more done tomorrow. I hope the weather holds out a little longer so that we can enjoy it a while longer. Katie got in the pool this afternoon. The pool temp was about 79 degrees. Just a little chilly for me but she didn't seem to mind.
Katie's birthday is in October. Maybe everything will be finished so that we can have everyone over and cook out and have cake on the deck.

Pool Update

Ok here is the latest pics of the pool and the deck. My friend Lauren made me go out just now and take these pics. As you can see Wade is building the portion of the deck where the hot tub is going to sit. Another pic is of the frame work of the new stairs. One is of the pool and the new deck. Finally the finished screen porch. All freshly painted. For now this is all the deck we can afford. We are going to put is all the way around as the money is available. It gets us started. There is enough room for several lounge chairs. It is at least ready to use tomorrow for our cookout.

Football Time in Tennessee

Well it is at least football time at Boyd Buchanan! Chris is a Senior this year. I can't believe it! Where has the time gone. This is Chris at football camp a couple of weeks ago. What happened to the little boy who sat in the floor and played with hot wheels. It is hard to imagine that our little boy is becoming a man. Time sure flies by. Live every minute like it is your last.

The Back Yard

WOW! Why do we always take on these BIG projects. Why can't I ever do something simple? The backyard is a mess. We had / have a goal of having the deck completed by Monday. We do have the screen porch rescreened and painted. The door needs to be put on. The base of the deck is done we just need to screw in the deck boards. We probably would have been on schedule but the rain the past two afternoons have messed that up. Hopefully we will kick butt on Saturday morning and be ready to use the pool on Labor Day. Maybe mother nature will hold out for us.

POOL IS IN!!

YEA! The pool is in! We filled it all day yesterday and all night last night. I turned the water off this morning because if I had left it on all day it would have run over. I have about 3 more inches to fill and it is done. We are soo excited. Katie is ready to jump in tonight. Now we have the deck to build. I will post some pics soon.

Life in the fast lane...

Why does my life have to be soo crazy? Well Katie, mom and I got back from our trip to Jacksonville for my cousins wedding. We had soo much fun. It was great to get to go to the beach two times in one year.
Looking at the pictures that I took I cannot believe how big Katie is getting. She will be 10 in just a couple of months. Tomorrow is the first day of school. I can't believe she is going to be in the 4th grade. Where has all the time gone?
Well things are progresssing with the pool. I have a huge dirt mess in my backyard right now but hopefully by next weekend there will be a pool in its place. As always this week is going to fly by and I am not going to be any further ahead. My house is a disaster area. I need a maid! But like my friend Lauren I would probably clean for the cleaning lady and that just does not make any sense.
I think there are more important things than an immaculate house. Like spending time with your kids. The housework will still be here when they are gone.

POOL NEWS

Ok it is official. My husband is trying to kill me. It is not a quick death noooo it is slow and painful. We came home from work today and got started on the yard. Our friend Clint came over to help Wade and I. Without him we would still be out there. We got the fence taken down and the shed torn down. I also got the yard sprayed for ants. (per the pool people) The tree company will be here in the morning to start taking out the 8 trees that need to come out. I should have taken a before pic tonight before it got dark but I forgot. I will try to get one in the morning when I leave for work. I know it is going to look like a disaster zone when I get home tomorrow.

The pool is scheduled to be installed the week of August 6th. At least we may get 4-8 weeks out of the pool before we have to close it down. Wonder how long it is going to take to fill it up and get warm? Oh YIKES.. wonder how much my water bill is going to be?

YIkes!! No blog entry in 2 weeks?

Ok I admit I am sooo bad at this. I am even bad at reading my friends blogs. My friend Lauren could have said all kinds of bad stuff about me in her blog and I would not have even known it. The problem is that the webnatzis at work will not let me have access to my blog therefore I cannot check it or ready anyone elses. After working on the computer all day at work I really don't like to come home and turn mine on.

Well I have been busy doing the auction thing. Things at the booth are doing well. I am making a little bit of money. It is at least paying for my habit.

On to today... Wade and I got a wild hair and we purchased a pool today. Yup you heard me right... a swimming POOL! I am excited. They had them 50% off. I understand that this is the end of the season but we will get some use out of it before we close it down for the winter. We have a ton to get done. We have trees to cut, fence to take down & move, a storage building to remove, get a backhoe and move dirt oh and a deck to build.

Hopefully we can have everyone over for an end of summer party. I will take pics of the progress. We are planning on starting on Monday. Wish me luck!

Back From Vacation!

WE ARE BACK!!!
We all had so much fun! The photo is of our whole group. Our best friends Edna, Whit & Megan Cooze went to Myrtle Beach with us. Chris also took his friend Brandon. We had some adventures along the way. On Sunday when we arrived it rained most all of the day. But that did not stop us from going to the beach. It was just raining so we stayed out. Heck we were already wet what did it matter. On Sunday when we checked in the remote controls did not work. On Monday or maybe Tuesday the fire alarm went off in our room every time we opened the balcony door. Come to find out the batteries were dying and all three needed to be changed. Other than that we had a smooth time. We ended the week by leaving the beach on Thursday and drove up to Charlotte. We stopped and visited Hendrick Motorsports and Lowes Motorspeedway. Chris was in Nascar heaven. The only thing that would have been better is if we had actually gotten to meet Jeff or Jimmie. The whole vacation was very relaxing. I hate the thought of going back to work on Monday.

Myrtle Beach HERE I COME!!!

Ok it is 11:52 pm the night before we leave for the beach. I am just now finished packing the bags and the car. We are ready... Well except that we left my camera in Wade's truck and it is at his brothers house. So we have to make a stop there in the morning before we head out. I am soooo ready. I will post pics and details next Sunday! Off to bed to get ready for the 8 hour drive.

VACATION!!

We leave for vacation to Myrtle Beach on Sunday!!! I am so excited I can't stand it! We are going with our friends the Cooze family. I talked to Edna today and she is like me she can't wait. I know this will be the longest week of the entire year. It is even a short week. Luckily work won't be too busy. It is month end and I have a ton to get done before I leave so it will make the week fly by.

News from the Wood Family

Wade and I have made a big decision. We are putting ourselves out on a limb and have made an offer on a house. Not another one for us to live in but investment property. We are looking to fix it up and sell it for a profit. We will find out by Monday if they accepted our offer. While we were there writing the offer there was another couple waiting outside to come in and look at it. Thankfully they did not see that we were writing the offer and hopefully ours will be accepted first. But in reality the buyer may hold out till the last minute to see if any better offers come in. Keep your fingers crossed.

In the meantime my other booth has come open at the Antique Mall. If I don’t take it I will loose it. So if I don’t get the house I will still want to keep going with the booth. I hate being an adult and having to make decisions. I just have gotten to the point to where you have to spend money to make money. If you don’t put yourself on the line you can’t get ahead. Heaven knows I am not going to get rich just working my regular job. Wade and I are just trying to find other ways to earn some extra income.

How does everyone do it?

OK I am absolutely exhausted! I feel as though I have not stopped for 2 weeks now. This is the first time I have had a few minutes to write. We have been on the go and I have not been home to get anything done. I cannot even remember the last time I cooked a meal. I know we have been eating out all the time. I have been throwing laundry in as I am breezing in the house so I have clean clothes but... they are all piled on the pool table.. (thanks Edna..you warned me).

I just feel like I am going to loose my mind. I am at my wits ends. Which by the way does not take long to get to. I have been in a horrible mood lately and have snapped at everyone. I finally got some sleep this weekend. Maybe that will help. Vacation is only 2 weeks away so hopefully I will get some much needed rest.

Well got to run Katie and I are headed back to the pool. It thundered earlier and we left. No thunder is over 45 min so I think it is safe to go back. I need the relaxation!!

Bloggin

Ok I have realized that this bloggin stuff is hard. With the summer here I am soo busy. Also with getting the antique booth I have been to auctions at least 3 times a week. I didn't realize this hobby would turn into a full time job. I got my first check from Knitting Mills (where the booth is). But to my dismay the only person that sold anything was my sister inlaw. But on a good note on Monday I sold 1 possibly 2 items. Hopefully I can find my nich. I just don't know what sells the best right now. Our booth is a hodgepoge of items.

Well I have to run. For some reason the laundry fairy does not stop here anymore and do my wash for me. It is amazing how many clothes this family wears.

Exhausted

The weekend has finally caught up to me. I am tired of auctions and junk. Tomorrow I have a baby shower at work and then Friday is Open House at work. I will be there from 7 AM to 9 or 10 PM. Oh and Saturday is my neighborhood yard sale. Maybe on Sunday I can get some rest.

Antique Booth

I am sure that you have all been waiting to see the pics of the booth. Well wait no more here it is....

Isn't it great! I am auctioned out though. We were at auctions this last weekend from Friday - Monday. On Monday we went to two that day. Hopefully we made some money over the weekend to make up for what I have spent.

Auction Crazy

We have been busy this week with loading in our Antique Booth. I have been cleaning and repairing furniture that we have gotten. I am on my way down there today to put more in that we bought last night. We are heading out again tonight to another auction. There are 3 more between now and Monday. Hopefully this little venture will be lucrative. I will take my camera and get a picture of the booth. It is called Wood Brothers Antiques.

Wedding Photos

Yea! It is over!! The renewal of wedding vows for my inlaws was today. I am exhausted. I was up until 2:30 am putting together a CD to use at the wedding since we were unsure about the piano player. You all know that after doing all that work she did show up today. But better to be safe than sorry. I got up and to my brother in laws this morning for his neighborhood yard sale. I made a purchase by myself and the guys were pleased. I got at table & 4 chairs for $35.00. Anyway I think I am pulling a Lauren and digressing again...

The wedding was beautiful. As you can see by the photo. Don't we all look gorgeous!!! After the wedding we had to go to my nephews graduation. I am just now getting home. I am loading the pics to Walmart.com so I can get them printed tomorrow. If I don't it will be days or weeks before I got that done. Who knows I may get creative and do them a wedding scrapbook. (Note: I have not even done my own so no one needs to hold their breath on this one.)

Guess what I did?

Well I made the plunge. I am now the proud owner of a booth at Knitting Mills Antiques. Wade & I along with his brother Jeff & wife Laurie are going to fill it up. This way we can get rid of all the junk we buy at the auction. We LOVE the auction and the thrill of buying a bargain. But I want to try and make some $$. We are going to try it for 6 months and see how it goes. Who knows we may not make a dime. But you don't know until you try. I am excited. So that means we are going to be busy the next couple of weeks going to auctions and buying stuff.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

I know you are reading this and thinking .... did you loose your mind. An Anniversary and Mother's Day all in the same weekend! My mother has been saying this for 11 years now. Don't ask me why I picked the day before Mother's Day to get married. Hind sight I guess I could have picked another day but I wanted to get married in May and that was the only weekend available. (ok so I don't remember for sure but it sounds like a good answer.) Sorry like my friend Lauren I am digressing.
Mother's Day this year was spent getting up and going to church with my mom. After church we went and had lunch at Ryan's. We met my in laws Lynne & Billy there also. We had a nice lunch. After lunch we headed back to our house for a photo op and change clothes and then we went to Lowe's. We picked up mulch and a few plants and went to mom's house to work in the yard. It is amazing what some weeding and a few bags of mulch will do. The yard looks great! So now that I am exhausted I am going to bed and get ready for the week ahead.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!! (to me)

Friday May 11, 2007 Wade and I have been married for 11 years. Can you believe it? Who would have thought it would have ever lasted this long! LOL. Wade really put some thought into our anniversary. He brought me flowers to work on Friday and planned our whole evening. We had dinner at Hennen's. By the way it was FABULOUS!! After dinner we walked around downtown and stopped at Ben & Jerry's for ice cream. We were going to take a carriage ride but because it looked like it was going to rain there were not any carriages out. We ended our evening at the hotel room that he had reserved. I was soo impressed that he did all that just for us. So ok he has brownie points for a while...

Whew!

Boy has it been a whirlwind of a week. The weekend has gone by just as quick. The plan was to get up on Saturday morning and go to the yard sales and then head up to Tansi. Well it was such a yucky rainy day we hung out at home. We got up early today and headed up there. We got a ton of stuff done. We got 10 bags of mulch put out, the water turned on, the air conditioner put in the window, cleaned the bathrooms & the kitchen. Oh and I also vacuumed the whole place. It is ready for us to go up for Memorial Day weekend. I am pooped now. I got home and put clothes in the wash. Why is a woman's work never done?

Lookouts Game

Well we went to the Chattanooga Lookouts game on Monday night. Katie won a ticket at school for being the most improved. I got the box seats that my company has so that we could be more comfortable instead of sitting in the cheap seats. Well our surprise the seats were GREAT! We were right behind home plate. We got to see all the action. We also were sitting around all of the scouts for the other teams. It was really neat. The weather was so nice. We actually enjoyed our night out at the ballpark. We only lasted till the 6th inning. Katie had already eaten ice cream and was ready to go. We figured she wouldn't make it. Anyway she had to get home and get ready for bed.

WOW What a Week!

Yikes! I knew this week was going to be crazy and it definately was! This is the first chance I had to get on the computer. I had 6 groups in at work this week. Monday thru Wednesday I got home late. So with my week being so busy I have spent today doing laundry. I am still waiting on the laundry fairy to come over and help me out but somehow it never happens.

I did get time yesterday to go over by Scrapbook Heaven and pick up Lauren goodies that she purchased over the phone with her gift certificate from the yard sale. Can you believe that woman thinks that I am going to make sure that bag of goodies gets to her? Possession is 9/10 of the law right? Just kidding Lauren.. I will try to get your stuff in the mail this week.

Katie won a ticket to the Lookouts game at school about 2 weeks ago. She is the most improved in her class. The prize was the ticket. I got extra tickets from my work so that we can all go. The game is on Monday night. She keeps reminding us that the game starts at 7:15.

At school on Friday Katie participated in the Run-Walk- A-Thon. She got donations from the family. You could pledge a specific amount or so much per lap. It seems she only ran/walked 9 laps. So.. this time I would have got out much cheaper if I had pledged per lap. Hey you never know. Last year she ran/walked over 40 laps.

Well I gotta run the dryer is buzzing.

Great Weekend!

What a great weekend!! I went shopping at the scrapbook yard sales at Scrapbook Heaven & Scrapbooks & Moore in Knoxville. I got some great buys. It was so good to get to see Renee, Melanie B, Melanie L, Kay and Lauren. I think the overnight trip refreshed all of us. You know some time you just need some girl time. We even talked about when we can plan to do it again!

While I was gone to boys (AKA Wade & Chris) had some guy time. They went to the dirt track races on Saturday night. They are soo excited about working on the car. They have spent the whole day today out in the garage working on it.

Katie came home from Girl Scout Camp. She had a blast. I can't wait to see the pictures. She got to go out in a canoe and also got to ride a horse named Traveler. She said the only complaint was that she had to kill a bug.

Looks like we are all refreshed and ready for the week ahead. Monday through Wednesday at work for me are going to be hectic. I have 6 groups of people that will be in town during that time. I will just take it one day at a time.

What Wade's Been Doing

Wade has been busy working the yard lately. He has put in a pond. It looks soo good. It is still a work in process. He still needs to add more rock and Katie has to pick out the fish that goes in it. I just bought some plants last night for it. The rest of the yard is looking great too. We actually reseeded the lawn this year and have kept up with the watering. I am so proud of him!

KnoxVegas!

Well Katie is off to Girl Scout Camp and she is thrilled. This will be the first time out of town this long without me, Wade or family member. She has everything packed already. So since she is leaving... I did not want to stay home with the boys. So... Lauren is coming up from Atlanta tomorrow and we are going to KnoxVegas!! Saturday morning is the Yard Sale at Scrapbook Heaven. We are going to stop over at it in the morning and then head to Knoxville. We will go to the Yard Sale at Scrapbooks & More in Knoxville and then over to the Love Crop to scrapbook the rest of the day. We are going to spend the night and hang with the girls in KnoxVegas!

What A Weekend!

Well just when I thought it could not get worse it does. I caught Katie's stomach bug. Yep I was up Sat night/Sunday at 2:30AM praying to the porcelain god. I guess only one good thing has come to all of this. Yep..I have the cleanest toilets of anyone around. I have spraying almost a whole can of Lysol around everywhere. So far Wade has dodged the bullet on this one. (insert devil laugh). I hope he does not get it. (LOL)

Another good thing is that while I had free time on Friday staying home with Katie, I got all the invites done for Lynne & Billy's vow renewal. YEA!!!

Well Katie is going to Girl Scout camp this weekend without me. I am kind of sad but I am also glad I don't have to go. She is sooo excited about going. She is going to get to ride a horse. I will let you know how it goes.

Friday the 13th!!!

Yikes!! I had actually not even thought about today being Friday the 13th. It hit me this morning when I got to work. My freaky Friday started off at 1:30 AM with Katie getting sick. I thought it was just something she ate. But after throwing up 3 times I knew something was not right!! Just when I thought that was it...NO... the cat started throwing up to !! Needless to say after being up till 3 AM cleaning up and 1/2 can of Lysol, we were all ready for bed.

We all got up fine this morning.. tired but fine. Katie was feeling better so I sent her to school. Well.. that did not last long. The school nurse called me at 11:30 to come and get her that she was not feeling well. Come to find out they sent over 100 kids home from school yesterday. There was a note sent home.. that of course I did not read. Seems like there is some kind of stomach bug going around.

So..Katie and I are at home today. She is in the bed watching cartoons and I am in my scrap room working on invitations for my inlaws renewal of wedding vows ceremony in May. I have close to 100 of these gems to get done in less than 10 days.

So that is my next adventure....
